If you want to acquire a firearm (legally) in Canada you must now have a FAC (Firearms Acquisition Certificate). But the new law will require you to have a Firearms License just to legally possess any firearms you now have. And the easiest way to a Firearms License is to take and pass the Canadian Firearms Safety Exam.
