Purtilo's news on the politics of guns and civil rights in Maryland

Moderating any news group is a long and time consuming process, and this is especially true in an active forum like rec.guns. As an activist, I'm involved in many projects, and so must balance time carefully. Gun-rights education and outreach is something I'm pledged to here, and that competes with time I spend moderating the group.

One way that the rec.guns readership can help me do a better job moderating here is to help carry the load of my outreach projects. (Some say they're willing to chip in just as a way to say "thanks" which of course I appreciate.) Donations sent to TRIPWIRE, PO Box 1071, Beltsville MD 20704, and marked as coming in support of the rec.guns efforts, go to the "Patrons" fund. I do not personally benefit from this, but I appreciate that people pitch in to this project on my behalf or have donated in my name. 100 percent of donations go direction to printing and postage for gunowner outreach, or for pro-gun litigation efforts. (None of this is thought to be tax deductable, but is still nevertheless appreciated.)

The PATRONS OF REC.GUNS have my sincerest thanks, for stepping in to help when we need it most! The Patrons fund was started in 1998, and to date has raised over $10,000 for the cause. THANK YOU!
